“I love playing outdoors on a warm July evening. It takes me back to my first year out of college in ’64 when I lived in a small furnished apartment above a grocery store in Allentown, PA. It was a hot July evening and I heard music in the air. I followed the sounds and found a park only a few blocks away and a band – one of four in Allentown at the time – giving the kind of concert the Greenfield Militay Band gives. An outdoor summer band concert is one of the great American experiences I hope never go away.”
