“I was in high school and wanted to continue playing in the summer. My most notable memory is playing concerts that started at 8 PM in the old band shell, and dodging bees coming home for the day to the hive in the bandstand wall behind the 3rd clarinets. The 3rd clarinets used to joke that we should receive hazardous duty pay.”
